A fabulous recreational and barbecue area!

This recreational forest reserve features a covered picnic area, a playground, fences with animals, a Forest, a post Disclosure of birdwatching, pathways of maintenance, an area of traditional games, a MultiSport field and a croquet field.

A small holy ghost chapel is in each the upper and lower village. 

There is a park built where the1720 lava flow destroyed the original church.

This park is call the Largo de Sao Joao; it has picnic facilities, aplayground and wildlife. At the Seashore of the upper village there is the Ponte de Sao Joao where there is asand volleyball court, showers and picnic facilities adjacent to a point that projects out into the ocean and is hometo a small tidal pool that is used as a local swimming hole.

Small natural wells, of volcanic origin,  popular during the summer season for swimming .
